Launched in February 2025, the Climate News Task Force (CNTF) is a collaboration bringing together a dozen diverse news organizations that produce or publish climate news. CNTF supports collaboration between newsrooms by (1) developing new relationships, tools, and platforms for sharing content and resources; and (2) developing consensus recommendations for philanthropic donors seeking to support climate journalism at scale.

CNTF is led by CASW, Floodlight, and the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. The effort is supported by grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Meliore Foundation, the Walton Family Foundation, with additional support from the Heineman-Russell Family Foundation.

Members

At this time, CNTF is not seeking new members; however, we may expand the task force at a later date. If you’re interested in receiving updates on CNTF activities, or to be considered for membership in the future, please fill out this form so we can stay in touch.

If you have questions about CNTF or would like to support our efforts, demo a tool, or pitch an idea, please contact us at cntf@newscollaborative.org.
